Harbour Village

Town Planning by Chuck Dietsche & Dan Costa

Harbour Village, clustered around the 10-acre marina of Bald Head Island, is the perfect antidote to the tensions of car-based suburban living. Neo-traditional town planning endows this contemporary resort village with the pleasures and balance of community life.  The environmentally efficient cluster of buildings preserves wide-open spaces for all to enjoy, while public and commercial structures merge fluidly with picturesque cottages and charming bed & breakfasts in a scale navigated on foot, by bicycle, or golf cart.

The planning project included the restoration of Old Baldy, the oldest lighthouse in North Carolina
